  Yup, the mark in 5 is working for me, though the text weight and style is a little pansy. I want to like 4, but I think the V&A compression is taken a little too far, so it's a bit inscrutable.

  2 might be nice if it had a different font, the crown was a touch more defined and it filled the circle a bit more, and the text was centred, like in 3.

  Is it 'VillageTown & Country' or 'Village, Town & Country'? It should be the latter, and more should be made of the punctuation.

  • Actually, the thing that bugs me about #4 is the lack of right arm on the T. Have you tried adding 'a bit' to the left of...detritus
  • ..the ampersand? ie. The Serif edge, poking out, with a split between it and the rest of the T?detritus
