...recently i had a client that was insanely enthousiastic about a logo upgrade, a solution to a bad logo that could not be completely redesigned. the company was in a takeover situation and they found me a little too expensive... so THIS time i reacted differently and kindly told them i could not lower my rate, so they responded they understood and that no other company in this area has ever done better and that they'll return when the takeover situation has finalised and their financial status becomes more clear..
moral of the story: stick to your value, be realistic to both client and yourself and NEVER be desperate.. i have learned my lessons. and remain kind and constructive.
