there are a few drivers that let you write to ntfs on os x, paragon makes one and there is also a free one. i usually mount it over the network and just use samba so it isn't an issue, but that's probably too slow for you, especially if you don't have gigabit ethernet.
also, one thing to note is that a file can't be larger than 4gb in FAT32
