    tips re: Chilé:
    - only U.S. and Canadian citizens are required to purchase a $100USD visa in Chilé. it is a rip and logically arguing with them will not work (ask me how i know).

    - it is arguably the most expensive country in SA. great, albeit, but comparatively your exchange will go far less.

    - no matter what anyone tells you, Chilé did NOT invent Pisco. however, they make a damn fine Pisco Sour.... ;)

    - you can camp in Parqué Torres del Paine for only the fee of the park for time staying (days). there are hotels, clearly, but they are very expensive. also be very clear to plan on a FULL days' transport both going in, and coming back to/from the parqué. it is basically close to zero towns of major route.

    • Note: i wish to HELL i was going to SA tomorrow. have a great trip.madirish
