Thanks, Baskerville - all good questions.
I've got a meeting with her next week to go through the exact nature, but yes the job I want to price up currently consists of at least the logotype and overall identity. I presume that'll then lead on to design work for menus, ads, packaging application to frontage, etc, but given that she'd (and I'd, as it happens) prefer recyclable, low maintenance packaging, it probably means just menu and frontage branding work.
I like the day/job rate thinking - because, research aside (which I never know how to cost), I can envisage this being quite a quick turnaround.
Would anyone share what they think is a fair hourly rate for branding work? That's a nosy question, so I'll understand if no one answers.
