Pixel ratio, along with contract ratio (are they the same thing?) aren't that comparable because companies tell it differently.
Sony I've got said it was 1000:1 contrast ratio, I saw a Samsung that was 5000:1 so I thought the Samsung was better...
Turns out the Sony is 5000:1, it's just the way Sony tell you stuff like that... the manual had a 'small print' section that gave the 'real' ratio away.
It's really confusing, eh? :)
