Depends on size... you won't notice the difference between 1080i and 1080p unless you are going for 42" or above.
It's a funny one, do you future-proof yourself with 1080p on a screen size you'll never notice the difference on, or save some cash and go for 1080i.
I guess what I'm trying to say is if you end up with 42" + TV, get 1080p otherwise don't worry about it...
I've got a 32" Sony Bravia (can't remember the exact model number). It's 1080i, I use it for gaming on PS3 and Blu Ray and the picture is amazing...
