I would think a competent interviewer would be able to make sense of a candidate through a resume, portfolio, and a face to face.
That test is bullshit if you ask me. Way too much work....it does however highlight some things that a good portfolio should have.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope it is for up and coming designers who do not have a full portfolio. Should they possess all of these things in the portfolio there would be no need to take the test.
