£20-25k when you first get here and you're kicking. When you've been here a while you start getting used to fresh deli food, buying clothes more than biannually, taxiing everywhere, ordering Hoegaarden or mixers by default, then you need that extra 10k.
More than £35k and you should be looking to move back out into the country, to fuck and spawn more consumers who'll come back in their working years and perpetuate the misery.
