    Honestly? - Technics

I first played on my flatmates vestax. To be honest they were lovely, better pickup speed the technics a touch more pitch bend etc, but if you get used to mixing on them or any thing with tonnes of bells and whistles, you may have trouble (nothing major) when playing clubs which almost always have technics.

If you buy a crap cheap set, you will end up paying again when you buy a better set.

    "buy cheap buy twice.."

Worth checking local papers people always sell turnatbles when they get bored of them, and as technics are pretty much bomb proof, you should be ok.

But if there is no buget for that, make sure they are direct drive,

There are some stanton ones that seem good, (at least on specs) never used them thought:

    hope that helps
