Already confirmed..a lot of native chinese speaking members of AVS Forums have confirmed it's HD-DVD in question. There's an official press release on Fuh Yuan site and other people translated it too. They are just trying to blow smoke on Engadget.
The thing they are saying in the press release is blue light HD-DVD, meaning blue light laser HD-DVD as they created red laser DVDs that had HD in the models as well.
It is indeed HD-DVD in question.
