It probably depends on what kind of job you're applying for. I think that having political messages will do more harm than good so I wouldn't personally have them, but it's up to you.
Being patriotic isn't horrible but judging by everything that has been happening the past few years and depending on where you live, I would think about whether or not having political messages/images in my folio is appropriate.
