    Get a PC ???

    (check your virtual memory settings, check InDesign's scratch disk/cache settings ... if it has them like Photoshop does..)

    Other than that, I don't know what to try...

    Possible faulty memory chip. Remember your computer CAN still run even with a bad stick of RAM, but when a program that's very taxing on RAM starts accessing it like a fat kid on a donut....you could run into trouble.

    I don't know if there's any way to test on a Mac for bad ram...I'm sure there's some utility.
