Ideally it's:
meet client, discuss their company, their positioning, what's working for their company, image-wise, and what isn't, usually come up with some vague ideas by the end of the meeting,sometimes I'll run them by the client, sometimes they need more fleshing out.
Research, gather needed assets and review.
Play around with some sketches of concepts. play with layouts in illustrator, mockup in photoshop and refine.
present, rethink and rework until everybody's happy. then pass it on to the production department and build-out.
sometimes it's:
"we don't care, just do whatever" and so I do... Okay when it works, a real pain in the ass when they get ideas after the fact.
