but before i go I'll just re-emphasise the point that the "influence trade" in Brussles not only adopted the corporate lobbying techniques from the US but magnified them. They are not only acting within a narrow economic rationality and self-interest but they are removing legislative attempts to save tens of thousands of lives every year - i.e. chemicals policy, air and water quality policies etc etc.
