How many people around and who is keen?
I'd say a bar somewhere in the valley or west end on a week night to avoid the trash crowds..
The bible's contradictions visualized. Nov 17, 10, 1:32 a.m.
Visualization of the contradictions in the Bible taken from The Scripture Project by Steve Wells (see the Projects section of http://www.reasonproject.org).
The bars that run along the bottom of the visualization represent the 1189 chapters in The Bible, with the length of each bar corresponding to the number of verses in each chapter. White bars represent the Old Testament and grey bars represent The New Testament. Each arc indicates a contradiction.

Timeline me if you want, I couldn't find this in search. Pretty Insane!
New Site Sep 25, 08, 4:22 p.m.
We just launched yesterday :)
This website was indeed done for the QLD State Government in Australia. Considering it was also for the Department of Justice makes it all the more crazy that we even were allowed to do it. We believe no government department has ever gone full flash like this in Australia. We actually had more ideas for UGC and some other things but they got knocked back unfortunately.
Worked directly with the government on this one, no agency - and we came up with the ideas and did the full execution.
Get Out There is a survival guide for young adults as they leave highschool and start life in the real world. Information on buying cars, renting their first place and so on.
The flash guys wrote this thing almost entirely in code...no timeline cowboys :)
Now you can rip it to shreds as I know you all will lol
25 today. Nov 30, 11, 6:11 p.m.
Damn the first 5 years of my 20s have gone past too quickly. It saddens me to think I'm now closer to 30 than 20 lol.. still so much partying and fun to be had before I "grow up".
Cheers qoob.
Typography Jan 29, 09, 10:45 p.m.
We have a new designer here who has a somewhat appalling understanding of this core design principle. I'm looking to find some good resources for her to help her improve her skills/understanding.
Any suggestions as far as books/websites go that aren't too complex? Just need to cover the basics for now.
We're weeding out all the terrible fonts on her mac so that she can't play with comic sans and the like :P
Chimpanzee Rapes a Toad Jun 17, 10, 11:45 p.m.
Don't know if this has been posted yet.
It might be NSFW? I can't really decide. But its pretty fucking epic.
They're just like real people! lol
'Pretty' prison officer wins case Sep 15, 09, 1:53 a.m.

Logo Critique Jun 21, 09, 9:53 p.m.
I've been working on this logo the last few days.
The company is a cancer clinic that does a lot of experimental/new treatments and deals with people who are at the end stages of their cancer. As a result their new brand needs to display a feeling of hope, sincerity, humanity etc. They do not want to feel clinical at all even though the company very much is that way.
I'm an interactive designer and don't do branding very often so I'm interested to see what you guys think.
Hoca stands for "Haematology & Oncology Clinics of Australia". I'm told the brand awareness is quite high in their target market, and they want to be remembered as Hoca and not a mouthful.
I've made an obvious play on the H, with the cancer ribbon and person as part of the logo..
Logo Critique Mar 19, 09, 9:27 p.m.
Well our server(s) fucked up today, so we can't do any work today. So I decided to revisit and finish this logo I was working on last year. The client ended up canning the logo side of the project unfortunately. Was originally for http://www.getoutthere.qld.gov.a…...
What do you guys think? I'm still not really happy with the T in the Get.
PS. We might be doing a pv3d iso theme park in the same style soon..will be fun :D
I lol'd at this all day Jan 15, 09, 11:35 p.m.
Just Launched Oct 12, 08, 5:17 p.m.
After several months of painful design and dev, late nights with pizza and redbull, we've finally launched this years icebreak website. Games, mobile downloads, free bumper stickers and that little old granny...one of the more amusing photo shoots I've been to :D
Now go have some fun and rip it to shreds for us...
Client: Parmalat
Digital Agency: Cru Digital
Air Conditioning is Broken. Oct 21, 08, 6:16 p.m.
It's 32 degrees celsius and I'm stuck to my leather chair.
*curses god*
Happy Birthday Nov 30, 10, 4:08 p.m.
24 today.
Thanks to all of you for another great year of QBN, the highs, the lows, the bannings, flaming & general bullshit that makes this place great.
A special shoutout to the attending members of various QBN Brisbane Drinks, glad to call you my friends :)
Critiques Please :) Feb 16, 10, 12:15 a.m.
Last time I did this similar I got some great feedback on my getoutthere peice when I was stuck. Its bounced around the interwebs a lot since then :) You can see that one here :

Anyway I started this:
on the weekend just for fun...
I know some of the curves are a little rough, mainly I want to get the lettering down. The e at the end of life is particularly annoying me!
Cheers.
Extremes Feb 8, 09, 2:31 p.m.
One part of australia is under several metres of water, and another part which is in the worst busfires ever recorded in the country - with a 108 deaths so far in several days. There has even been reports of children being snatched by crocodiles in floodwaters...
I'm glad I live in inner city brisbane heh.
DesignGive Nov 16, 08, 11:35 p.m.
What are other people's experiences with them?
I ordered a tee more than 3 months ago which has yet to arrive - and they are non responsive when I try to contact them...
Hyphens & Dashes Apr 7, 10, 12:27 a.m.
I'm being asked to break up the word "economics" into "eco–nomics" in a logo I'm working on, and it looks a bit retarded. The client wants to emphasize the "eco" part as it is an environmental brand, which I'm doing through the use of two colour tones instead.
To me it feels like such a bad move to break up a word as it makes it less legible and also looks naff from the negative space it creates.. what are you're guys thoughts on the use of these?
Keen Aug 23, 11, 12:38 a.m.
So today a delivery man came into the office with a large box. Curiously, it was a delivery for a small design shop who share some of our office space.
They ordered 20,000 business cards in 1 type of card for a small restaurant starting up locally. That's pretty keen.
lolllll
Anyone else had similar experiences with clients/agencies ordering retarded amounts of things they simply will never use or need?
Er wtf? Jun 4, 09, 12:29 a.m.
Scum of Society Mar 9, 09, 10:12 p.m.
Parking wardens.
50 dollar fines on a residential street. We are the only business on it and get our cars targeted nearly every day.
If i was ever to be brutally violent to a person it would be one of these guys :)
