working on a quick 'n simple static html website for an antiquarian. only the first column of the top navigation is working. i made the pictures too, but what you see now are just drafts.

i can't check the performance in IE6/7. how does it look like on pc - is everything still on the grid or totally messed up? i'm curious.

all other comments on layout, color scheme and performance are welcome too.

i have 2 specific pantone swatches in illustrator. now i need a third swatch that has the overprint color of those other 2 pantone swatches in it.

when i zoom in on the pictures i can see there's a 8px wide red spot on every picture i take with my new 40d.
with different lenses it stays on the same place every picture. it looks like it's getting worse when using longer exposure times (>30 seconds).

what's wrong here?

It may be years ago that i came across a photographer who made a series of pictures of people walking on a sidewalk in New York at night.
A little more specific if i remember this correctly: the b/w pictures were taken at night probably with a telezooom lens, made at the moment that the subject (who didn't know he was photographed that moment) walked under a bright spotlight.

attempt to get the mousewheel working on a pc (and i'm on a mac so can't check it myself).

it should work now, except that the visitor has to click the swf first to get focus?
i tried to set the focus to the swf using a javascript, but no luck so far.

what's the usual workaround to get this work?

i made some changes in an older flash file and needed to publish for player 7 and actionscript 2.

the older one was published for player 6 and had no problems.

but in the new file the asfunctions that are called from an external .txt file won't work anymore.

can't find what's changed in as2 or wrong with my file.

any suggestions?

wondering if autorun.inf still works on modern pc's. (i'm on a mac, yes).

i've made some autorun exe files on a cdrom for pc before, but that was back in 2001 or something.

now it has to work from an usb-stick, don't know if that's more complicated to realize.

maybe someone can help me a little with a function for this:

i have a number of movieclips. let's say 20.
every movieclip contains one black block - and they're all different in size.

i want to put them one by one in random order on the stage until the space on the stage is filled like this:

in other words: when only 4 movieclips fits on the stage it shows 4 movieclips, when 8 movieclips fits... etc etc

and i don't want them to overlap each other...
how could this be done?
