I took this photo at the weekend:

As soon as I took it, and had a quick glance at the screen, I knew it was special (in my eyes). Posted it on a few forums, and flickr. A discussion started with lots of very positive comments, some like "Of all the photos that I have seen in this thread, some of which are stunning, this is by far my favourite. Absolutely brilliant shot". It also made flickr explore.

This got me thinking.

Who was in the shot? Why didn't I stop and ask her at the time for an email address so I can send the photo to her?

Anyway, last night comes. I decided to put a little page together on my site with a close up of her face, and another shot I took of the kid facing forward. Testing the 6 degrees of separation theory, I then put an appeal out on my wife's facebook account (I don't have one).

2 hours go by, the 6th person to comment posts up saying she is 99% positive she knows the lady in the shot. 5 minutes later I get an email with the ladies email address. She loved the shot :o)

I sent it to her, free of charge. She is delighted!

What's the best way to find someone to do this? What's the name of that site again where you add your project and people pitch for it? Could draw these myself, but really don't have the time.

Got an iMac a couple of weeks ago, and it's my first mac (been a pc man since 1846). Anyhow, I'm a front end developer, but can handle some back-end stuff too.

Can anyone give me the low-down on what essential web-dev tools I need? Already have xampp running (mysql/php) and all working nicely (kind of).

Any help for a mac noob would be very much appreciated!

...30 websites (all branching from 1), 35,000 pages, 2 stylesheets, and almost every page is different. That's what I've been working on for the last 5 months.

Working for a very large financial service company just now, who wanted a "re-skin". A simple re-skin would have been easy, but the state of the markup was unworkable and each page needed tidying up.

This has been the biggest project I've ever worked on, being wholly responsible for all html/css/accessibilty/browser testing/mobile devices, phew. I'm knackered and sitting down to a beer right now.

Site goes live tomorrow @ 2pm GMT.
