"skybar" flash intro? Jun 19, 08, 12:54 p.m.
remember it? like back in '99 or something?
pretty sure the place was called Skybar, and the site had this flash intro that was pretty awesome at the time. It just popped into my head and it's killing me that I can't find it anywhere.
It was brought back to my head after seeing the flash intro here: http://www.bluegin.cc/index.html…
Pretty similar if I remember correctly.
the ol' one pg folio thread Jul 11, 07, 10:11 a.m.
remember it? where is it?
at the time someone even backed it up and posted the whole list on a site.
I can't seem to find anything.
Thanks in advance for your help.
quick video question Mar 15, 07, 7:43 a.m.
I have a video clip that is 720 pixels wide. the important stuff happens in the center of the clip, but there is a gradient in the background that changes. I want the clip to be 950 wide, but leave the stuff happening in the center untouched. Is there some way for me to stretch or repeat the left and right sides outward without editing the center? I don't want to maintain aspect ratio. I just want to stetch the sides of the clip. Some in Final Cut or Motion? Thank you for your help.
MC Tween class Q Mar 8, 07, 11:15 a.m.
I'm using blurTo to take several blurred images down to 0. Seems to work well sometimes, but then other instances start to take the blur away and then just suddenly snap to no blur at all. It's not a gradual fade.
(I'm specifying "linear" tween too)
Anyone else ever have this problem? suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Quicksilver Nov 14, 06, 5:21 a.m.
I think it's a sign that you're going to have a good day when you turn on the TV in the morning before work -- just in time to catch the part in Quicksilver where all the bike messengers are kickin' the freestyle tricks. :)

resume and address Jul 24, 06, 11:46 a.m.
Just wondering, how many of you give a false (or let's say 'wishful' ) address when applying for jobs out of state? If you do, how's that workin' out for you? :) what's your experience with it?
I'm finding it hard to break into other markets, chicago, seattle, etc.. becasue they want to hire *local* designers.
thanks.
disruptions during Bush Sep 3, 04, 5:59 a.m.
Did anyone watch Bush's speech at the RNC last night? There were 2 different moments where some kind of disruption took place. You heard members of the audience start to boo, etc. and then cameras folllowed Secret Service as they freaked out and drug people out of the convention. I'm trying to find more info on what happened this morning, but i haven't found anything yet.
?

Can't remember URL Jan 7, 04, 7:53 a.m.
OK, i'm looking for a site and i can't freakin' remember where it is. Someone's kick-ass illustration site. He does these really nice 70s-ish looking posters... all brownish.. some with rainbows. You can buy the posters. And i'm pretty sure the URL had zeros in it. 00000
anyone?
Residential Life Jan 5, 04, 6:38 p.m.
Has everyone seen Residential Life on TLC? I just caught the beginning of it and the opening sequence seems heavily influenced by the Anamorph clip that WDDG did a while back. Kinda cool.
Anyone know who worked on it?
interesting flash problem Nov 29, 03, 3:12 p.m.
anyone ever have this happen?
i have a button with the following on it.
on (release) {
_level1.play("close");
gotoAndPlay("information");
}
now, both statements (_level1 and gotoAndPlay) will not work at the same time! Only one works. I can even comment one or the other out, and each works fine on it's own. Any ideas?
tell me i'm not high Nov 13, 03, 2:38 p.m.
shouldn't this:
_level0.gotoAndStop (54);
make whatever SWF is in Level 0 (main timeline) go to frame 54 and stop??? am i doing something wrong?
portfolio / packaging Nov 4, 03, 11:57 a.m.
I'm working on my *actual* porfolio (not online) and I want to include some packaging work i have done. i have worked on a lot of Nutritional Supplements, protein bars, etc. many of them are large and bulky. What's the best way to include this work? Just place flat labels in my portfolio? Lug around actual product? Any advice would be great. Thanks.
Driven by Design Oct 21, 03, 6:31 p.m.
Apple's Driven by Design seminar.
http://seminars.apple.com/tours/…
Anyone attended this yet? I went today in Cincinnati, Ohio. It's basically one huge advertisement for Apple and their partners, but WOW, the new Adobe creative Suite (CS) has some niiiiiiiiiiiiiice improvements. You won't believe some of it. Unlimited Undo's - through saves! Image Ready able to create dynamic SWF's ? Some new options in Photoshop that make things a lot easier.. a new Color Match feature. Check out the Adobe portion of the seminar if you can. The whole thing is free.
text on arc in flash? Mar 5, 03, 10:43 a.m.
i know this sounds stupid - and i'm not just learning flash. but for some reason, i've never had to create text on an arc before. now that i want to i can't figure out how!
i know i could do it in illustrator or freehand, but it would be nice to have a smooth tween in flash. any ideas?
thanks a lot.
driving directions Feb 4, 03, 6:57 p.m.
does anyone in the US use a site to get driving directions other than mapquest?
...because mapquest just sucks sometimes.
