vote!

if you are a u.s. citizen living abroad, be sure to send off for your absentee ballot. it's still early enough to register, so you don't have to have done so previously.

here's the link: http://www.fvap.gov/

interesting 2008 - jim le fevre

the video of jim le fevre's interesting 2008 talk is now up on the guardian website:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/v…

he's calculated how to make a zoetrope using the 33.2 rpm of a turntable as seen through the 35fps of a videocamera. very nice.

dear britons

i know that it's half eight on a cold tuesday evening in february, and that you've had your dinner and are all cosy and warm in your homes, but stop using the fucking iplayer.

it wasn't built for this many of you and you're getting between me and my attenborough fix. and you do NOT want to get between me and the dulcet, soothing tones of the great man.

so piss off already.

americanos 2

someone asked me a question a little while ago and i couldn't remember the answer, so i need to take a little poll of americans:

do you understand the phrase 'mobile phone' immediately when you hear it and know that it means the same thing as 'cell phone'?

cheese and marmite panini

so, i grabbed a cheese and marmite panini from starbucks on my way in this morning, you know, to cure the blistering hangover, and as i was approaching my building, these two old guys were walking towards me and one of them gestured towards my little starbucks sack and said, 'i'll bet you've got some cheese in there, haven't you, love?'

i can't figure out if he was being rude or not.

cirque manager

hey, kids!

sorry i haven't been around much lately. i've been working on a new game:

http://www.cirquemanager.com/

it's meant for younger people (10-15 or so), but i'm finding that 30-somethings are prone to addiction to the minigames.

have a go and let me know what you think!
