I tried to do a search via the filter but was unable to find anything. The low down: I'm moving to San Fran for a job and was curious what are the best places to live. I'll probably be doing the roommate thing for a bit to save money and I will be working in the SoMa area. I also have a dog so being close to a park would be ideal. I've been using pad mapper but not very many housing opportunities have popped up recently. Any other services to use as well?

I am looking for a font that is similar to cooper but has more of a script look to it. Any help on this would be great.

Excel tables to xml (mac) Apr 19, 11, 5:41 p.m.

Just curious if anyone has a tutorial or video that shows how to accomplish this. The save as xml 2004 from excel does not work correctly. Thanks in advance for any help.

OSX 10.6.7 & Opentype font Issues Apr 19, 11, 9:58 a.m.

Do not upgrade from 10.6.6 if possible or you will see issues with opentype fonts in a few adobe apps such as flash and acrobat and also microsoft apps as well.

Flash Q: delete txt from a string Mar 21, 11, 11:03 a.m.

In as3 how would I go about deleting a portion of text from the end of a string.

Currently I load text in from an xml file into 12 different objects. Each object has a paragraph of text. There is some text at the end of each paragraph that I would like to get rid of. The text starts with the word "Daily". I assume there must be a way to code - get rid of anything from "Daily" on. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

PS Layer Comps in AE Jul 23, 10, 7:55 a.m.

Just curious if any of you have a workflow of working with layer comps from a PSD to After Effects. We usually storyboard in photoshop using layer comps as we find it very easy to turn on and off things but the motion designer was wondering if AE supports layer comps as when he pulls them into AE it's just a ton of layers in folders. Let me know your thoughts.

The main thing is we need someone who can work in the office. Currently we do work from home on Fridays in the El Segundo office. The work is fun and the team I work with is great. Very laid back environment. Basically the type of work you would be doing is simple flash animations and design for flat screens in places like Robek's, Coffee Bean, Einstein's, etc. We create ads and we also build widgets for the screens (sports scores, stock reports, surf reports and traffic for each location).

Anyhow, I have been on this board for a bit and just thought I'd see if this may be of interest to anyone.

There was a well designed flash site a while back that was about drinking water. You could even put in your weight and height and it would tell you how much water you should drink a day. Anyone know the link? I did the google thing and no luck as of yet.

anyone have the best way of setting up the png file to be opened properly in photoshop. I have about 25 files that were created in fireworks and as most of you know openiing a png in photoshop flattens all the info. Just wondering if there was a sure method of turning these to psd files without any errors.
