Im looking for a little direction on web design.
I have a very basic knowledge of dreamweaver and flash but need to find some help and/or tutorials about building websites.

I realise there are tons of web design tutorials out there but if anyone has used some they've found really good that would be great.... or where exactly is the best starting point for someone like me... is it qbn?

We have a work experience / inter guy in our studio for a short space of a week. Any recommendations on quick fun jobs he can do?

We've already got him to clean all of our desks, clean our cars, iron our clothes, make us tea, bake some cakes, walk the dogs.... suppose its time to give him some design related work now - any quick & easy projects to throw at him?

So the brief was to create some a little larger than a business card but im thinking of a piece with 2 or 3 folds – anybody got any nice references for something like this?

I love them. 'Sound of silver' is a seriously addictive album, i find myself listening to it constantly, but i know in another month or two i will have listened to it so much that i will hate it. i hate how i do that.

I've been working in an design agency for the past 3 years since finishing college but feel like I want to do some more study.

This seems pretty interesting & intensive, but just wondering if anyone here knows somebody/anybody that may have studied there?

I think it's looking bloody great now. Any applications of the logo / brand that I have recently have been really exciting. It's fresh, its unique, its different, they took a chance, they didn't go with the usual safe shit and I think it's paid off now...

It was ridiculed at first but I think people have slowly began to see what wolff olins have tried to do. We will look back at this in years and I think it will be a turning point in branding! The emphasis is no longer on creating a mark that looks polished, smart, corporate... designed. It's more about what lies behind the logo, the people, the games, the energy.

They call it 'everyone's olympics', and i think they've succeded in creating a brand that is inlcusive and approachable by everyone, not just another safe, boring, but well constructed, corporate logo.

hello,

i want to create a html email, but not the standard crappy run of the mill ones. I received one recently which didn't actually have any html elements.

I suppose it could be described as an e-invite (hate that term.. but hey!). The email consisted of 3 gif files which were automatically downloaded from some web server, without asking my permission.

So basically the email consisted of 3 little gif files in a nice neat row, which was the entire email... if you know what i mean?

Does anyone have an idea how to do this stuff?

i have this niggly issue with clipping paths, every now and again, for no real reason (it seems to me!) when I create a clipping path the selection area is the portion of the image outside of the object im trying to clip... if you know what i mean.

so basically if i have a pic of a cat or cake that i REALLY want to clip, my clipping path selects the area outside the cake, or cat, instead of the actual cake or cat. (the background, i guess)

i've done about 5 paths so far today and all were fine until now the one at the link below shows how the first path was sh!t.

does anyone have any idea why this happens? i will supply a freshly cut cat or cake to the man and/or woman who can tell me why

basically im wondering if there are any differences in standard stationery items between the usa & europe?

Are business cards generally the same size (sounds like a stupid question,,, it IS a stupid question!)

Generally is M used to abbreviate mobile or do you use C for cellphone?

Letter & A4 sizes, whats the dillio?
