Hey does anyone have an easy class based preloader system they use and like? I cant seem to find anything that is super easy to use or that can handle XML documents in addition to SWF's, sound and images.
Basically what I'm looking for is a progress bar that moves based on the total byte size of all the external files I need to load.

I fucking hate airports, tsa and the public in general. Flying ranks up there with the DMV and the post office with me. Total hassle every time.

One of my good friends, Alex and his girlfriend Susan live in Albuquerque. Alex is a photo professor at the university of NM, and Susan is a working artist, both of them are super creative, funny people. They woke up one morning to the sound of police dogs and helicopters in their neighborhood, when they looked out the window, saw some guy getting chased by the police crawl under their house. They had to evacuate and were put in a patrol car for a few hours while the cops got the guy and sorted everything out.
After it was all said and done, they were joking around about how it was their cat who saved the day and that if any news reporters came around they would spin some wild yarn about how the cat brought down swift justice. This is what went down, keep in mind the whole story is TOTAL BULLSHIT.

this weekend was hottern' hell, so I cranked the A/C and watched several hours of little league world series baseball.
gawd damn, those kids are good! I played ball all through high school and still play on a city team, and I swear some of those kids are better than us!
Anyhow, it reminded me that next year I need to sign up to coach some little league teams. Snowcones and pizza parties..maybe some hot moms?
Anyone else watch any of that?

I've been on the creative side of the online business/agency for 10+ years. I've held titles such as Art Director, Interactive AD, User Experience Manager, Info Architect etc.
During my career I've also been a part of a few successful start up ventures and have had quite a bit of experience in project management, online marketing and client relations.
I really want to pursue a path toward something like Strategy Director or some such title. Primarily concentrating on research, brand and creative strategy. Structuring campaigns and developing media plans and working with all the teams from the executive, the technical, sales, account managers, creative etc.
So then, my question is since I have a creative background primarily, how difficult do you think it will be for me to transition into such a role? Does anyone have any examples of resumes or job descriptions of such a role? I've found a few on Google, but having more would help.
Thanks in advance, I'm sure I'll get lots of wiseguy retorts here, but thought I might get a few actual intelligent responses.

Which do you feel are the best value? Value defined by knowledge gained vs. price paid.
Looking for mostly design related stuff, but also would be nice to find a 3 or so day event that offered courses in UX, business, ad/marketing/branding etc.
For example, I went to Flashforward a couple times and found it to be a really great value. Not only did it really challenge me to improve my Flash, but also sat in on several lectures on usability, online community, brand strategy, workflow strategy, video, narrative and so on.
Not to mention the flashforward film festival was a true inspiration! It has been a few years since I last attended, is it still as good?
I'm trying to put a budget proposal together by the end of the day today, so I'm curious to know which would you choose?
