indesign cs2 to html May 2, 07, 10:40 a.m.

i need to take an indesign cs2 layout and output it to html. i've tried to do this a couple of times and the html layout is not even close to the original. i realize that it won't be an exact replication, but my attempts weren't even in the same ballpark.

has anyone successfully accomplished this or know anything about it? any help would be great.

i've seen variations of this technique in various places. is this just a matter of placing each element? or is there a faster way to do this in illustrator with patterns and brushes?

could someone help me out and tell me if i have kerned this properly?

most, if not all, the examples of kerning i've seen use serif fonts, and i'm not sure if i'm doing this right with this sans serif font. if anyone has links to useful online kerning resources, that would be appreciated, too. thanks.

ok. this may be a dumb question(s). i want to buy an open type version of serifa in a roman/standard/55 weight. i'm looking at versions from adobe, bitstream, and urw. is any one of these foundries better than the others? which foundry's version would you buy? thanks for your help.
