I am doing some work for an online music company, kind of in the same vein as Spotify. They want me to design the UI for an IPad app, which I will then adapt to ipod, website, all that good stuff. I am primarily a print designer, and have worked mainly in the action sports industry. This arena is new to me so i need some advice with quoting the job.

They have offered me some stake in the business, which i am interested in. The guy hiring me only owns 35% so i dont want to ask for too much because I think it's coming out of his stake, but he sounds pretty open. As usual, their budget is slim, so i am trying to give them a rate to design this. I am going to give them a number and he will come back and say "how about _% and cut your quote to _".Pretty common issue, I dont want to bid too low, but I also don't want to scare them away.

I am reaching out to my international brethren...the family and I are taking a trip to Southern France to stay with some friends. We are renting a car so we will be able to explore a bit. Any suggestions on things not too miss? Museums, Art shops, touristy stuff, etc...

Our friends have a house on the beach so we will prob hang there mostly, but I know there are some amazing spots. Any tips? Thanks. (keep in mind, I am travelling with a toddler and pregnant wife, so we have some limitations, haha).

Should I buy it, or is that too much for a 5 year old machine? Does the RAM make it worth it? Thanks for your input.

so we are looking into getting some new pantone textile swatch books here at work. Do you guys have any options other than Pantone (are there any others)? Any fashion designers on here? What kind of color selection process do you use? trying to streamline things here so we dont have to color dip a bunch of fabric...any ideas? thanks.

so, this has been bugging me all day. there used to be a shirt company like in the early 90s or so, that had sports themed shirts. one was an illustration of a lizard or something in sunglasses climbing on a volleyball net i think. neon colors, and they may have had a little tag line or something. i think they also used sharks and stuff. does that sound familiar to anyone?

so i have been wanting to upgrade my screenprinting stuff lately, but i dont really know much about it. i just found an auction im going to go to and they have a bunch of stuff for sale. I want to make my own screens and all that stuff. Here is what they list: "16' dryer with 2' belt, 6 color 8 station Hopkins press, 4 color 4 station Hopkins press, light table, copy camera" Do I need a light table or copy camera? How much do you think i should bid for?

i have an older g5 and for some reason the fonts are messed up on certain sites, its chinese or something. is there something i can do to fix this other than restoring it w the disc (not sure where its at), someone said something about deleting the preferences, i dont know. thanks.
