Beer Glass Graphic ? Apr 26, 12, 9:06 p.m.
A client wants me to take a 4c color graphic and apply it to a 3c tumbler. Im unfamilair with the printing abilities and prep on this. Are the 3 colors 100% screens? Do i need too prep the files as 3 layered monotones or a single tricolor psd?
Its a photograph/illustrative piece... And not sure exactly the best way to reproduce this for a glass. Dont do too much collateral like this so any production advice would help. Details i have is size and 3 color. The piece is primarily black/white shades of gray in between and a green. So a simple base 3 color would work if glass printing wasnt 100% color... but not sure...anyone with tips or help id appreciate the input.
ssd main drive nerd shit Feb 15, 12, 10:42 p.m.
Recently my system has been acting funny and i cant figure out the problem so im using it as a good reason to upgrade some stuff.
My main focus is to take advantage of a new ssd. Currently i have a small sataIII ssd. At 64gb i filled it fast and looking at a crucial m4. Anyone using a 256gb or larger for a main profile drive with regular hds for backup? Im trying to figure out if i want want to go with 128 and split my profile and only OS on ssd or just run my whole profile...
Google doesnt seem to be helping much on my decision. So if anyone is running a ssd as main is it worth it for the 250mb write times? Or does it wear to fast?
Also i have a big bang xpower with a marvell controller... i think the crucial m4 is the best out there.. if there is another better option for cheaper let me know.
electronic press kit Jan 16, 12, 7:09 p.m.
Looking for examples of electronic press kits. Its for a buddies film. Kind of in the dark since I havent really seen any examples. Quick googling giving me some idea as far as html template stuff.
Anyone know of any cool examples or methods? Thanks.
virus help Dec 24, 11, 8:27 p.m.
So my buddy was looking for some photography cheat sheets last night. He clicked on something bad. Said no install windows popped up or anything, just a lot of popup shit. And he had to reboot. When he rebooted his profile settings seemed to be hosed. All his app shortcuts and folders werent there. He called me and explained the deal. Told him to just yank the drive and bring it down with him when he gets down here for xmas. When he was trying to log out he was prevented by saying someone was currently logged into his machine. Told him to just turn that shit off. Im gonna plug the drive in and see what data i can nab and do a new reinstall tomorrow.
Anyone heard of a virus that works this way? It was a modded win7 64bit i hooked up and gave him some protection. I know he had updated all patches about a month or 2 ago. Seems weird to think he clicked on a link and this shit happened. Never seen anything like it. Any tips or knowledge on this type of attack is appreciated. If not ill figure it out as i go. But intial google searchs arent really paying off.

ssd tech question Jun 9, 11, 7:22 p.m.
Been looking around online and havent found any real good info. And im a bit green on a few things.
Currently im running a crucial c300 64gb sata3 ssd. I have my profile split so it only runs the OS and apps. However im running with only about 27% open on the drive. And im feeling the need to reinstall some games and some new apps.
Options im looking at but not sure are:
1) I believe there is a possible way to install apps on regular hdd's. If its not to hard to setup with games and apps I can try it out. I have about 800gb of my profile drive to install on. Pro's of this is save 500 bucks and setup time, but im very green on this, from setup time and tech level needed to do it, if possible, and if theres unknown issues that may arise with how apps write data.
2) I can buy a larger better ssd(256gb). And instead of splitting profile i can enjoy the faster write read/write speeds on files i work on off the desktop. Of course i'd likely use the hdd's for 4gb+ type files ... My question with this route is if i dont split profile and run it normal, what are second gen sata3 longevity times. 3-5 years or less? Or should i just get larger ssd and still split profile and use ssd only for app-games?
Im running win7 on a marvell 9128 controller board, and should support trim and all that. Was thinking the crucial m4 for drive...
Looking for any thoughts/feedback. Be greatly appreciated since im having no luck on the google front.

ocz vertex3 525/500mb read/write Apr 4, 11, 9:46 p.m.
http://www.guru3d.com/article/oc…
Man i cant wait. That bitch is fast. Speeds like that make me think about actually running profile on it. Of course my raid knowledge is little maybe there is a better option.. i think you cant get near those speeds in a raid 0-1? setup. Or can you?
Cant find this shoe site... Mar 26, 11, 8:21 p.m.
It was a cool flash interface. A bit of load. Little black illustrated grunge/grafitti style monsters/characters. The shoes where unique and some i saw had frayed leather heals on casual side. It was a brand that i never heard of and have no leads on the name. Think i saw it run the rounds maybe 6+ months ago. Any help is appreciated because ive been checking looking back for it but cant find it.
Methods to get 3d script in ai Feb 10, 11, 6:57 p.m.
I'm just average user in illustrator and i'm working on a little type design for fun. Found a good script font and want to make it all pretty and show the script parts that overlap in a faux 3d style. Toying with different messy pathfinder options. Plus trying to line draw other portions on top. The methods im using just seem time sucking. Any known great methods to isolate the overlapping portions? Preferably directed at a tutorial because always easier to understand with pictures.
My thinking was to get all overlapping parts on its own layer then apply alpha/gradient masks where needed. Is this the wrong approach?
BuyABeerCompany.com Dec 6, 10, 11:25 a.m.
Anyone know what happen with this? Seeing that ark crowd source made me wonder about the outcome of this. Some articles online was saying they raised like 200 million. Sites forbidden. Pretty good scam if they just cut and run.
xmas trees Dec 3, 10, 9:24 p.m.
Seriously is there anything more fucked up then planting and growing a tree for years to cut it down for about 20 days to stick 2x wrapped items under it. Maybe its because it doesnt compare to clear cutting efforts. But somewhere the tradition vs population makes you have to look at diminishing returns and good memories vs harm..... stupid xmas
repousse help Nov 9, 10, 8:05 p.m.
Im trying to bring a compound path logo into photoshop from illustrator as a shape layer. The problem i'm having is the logo has multiple compound paths inside the letters and repousse wont detect more then one hole. Is there a way to make it detect multiple holes in the type like an o and an A? Is there something im missing? Or is it just a limitation of the software. I know it reads text compound paths with no problem, so wondering if i have to try to convert the logo to a text file for workaround? Any help is appreciated.
720p convert to 1080p Nov 8, 10, 2:21 p.m.
If i must convert a 720p file to 1080p file, what is the best method to do this to retain as much quality as i can?
