Displaying a Twitter feed

Hi, does anybody know of any services/products that allow you to take a clients twitter feed or # and run it through a display as a simple updating presentation? Probably one tweet at a time, rolling through the last 5 or 10. It's for an exhibition stand.

Something like this but preferably more customisable, colours and fonts would be good.

Calling all old timers

Does anyone know what those old personal foiling machines were called? We had one at uni but I know it was pretty ancient then. You feed in a photocopy plus a sheet of foil and the heat rollers fuse the foil onto the photocopier toner somehow.

Great for mockups. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Identifying a Pantone

Does anybody know if there's a way to identify a pantone colour after the swatch has been renamed in a file?

It's an EPS logo file, all set up nicely for once, but they've renamed the PMS number as 'corporate blue'.

File format download icons

Does anybody know of a usable set of file format icons somewhere that I can use for a download page.

Just had a client ask for a list of file formats as long as your leg which is going to take me forever to try to collect all the logos for and reformat to the same size.

edgeless magnetic whiteboard

Sorry for the rather dull request but I'm having a nightmare here. Does anybody have any idea where I could source some whiteboards that don't have an ugly metal edge around them. We want to clad out one of the walls in a meeting room with them so there would be a few butting up together.

Looking for magnetic whiteboards, available in the UK.

Thanks for any help.

Is student debt tax deductible?

Not sure why but since graduating in 2003 the student loans company has hardly contacted me about repaying anything. Feel like maybe I should start chipping away at it though.

Does anyone know if you can put it down as a professional expense on your tax return?

Conference Stands

Does anybody have any good resources/sites they can recommend for some conference stand research? Looking for some examples of what can be done with 4x4 metre and below spaces, struggling to find anyone who showcases custom built stands at that size.

InDesign Cache?

Been working on a crazy file with about 100 images placed together, it slowed ID down to a halt. I've shut the file now but other files are still suffering. Does InDesign have a cache or equivalent like photoshop that you can empty?

iphone 4 - data limit

Just upgrading and all the O2 tariffs have ditched the unlimited data. Does anybody have any ideas whether 500 MB of data allowance a month going to be enough for regular emails, maps and average use out and about?

If not I might have to swap to Orange - unless anyone has any horror stories of Orange service in London.

What was that site...

Probably getting on for 10 years ago - was like a dutch design, coding, art collaboration project. Had a chat area where everyone in it was a fly in a sink. You could move around and talk to other bugs stuck in the sink. Any ideas?

linking macs to render

Does anyone know how to link/network/cluster various macs together to use their shared processing power to render stuff quicker? Rendering from cinema 4d. I've had a look about online but coming up dry.

The iPhone is the new Internet Explorer 6

...says mobile developer. The long, detailed and faintly angry blogpost doesn't pull any punches:

"The iPhone has become an obsession. If we don't pay attention, we'll have a mobile web that only works on the iPhone. And then we'll have the real mobile web that wasn't made by us and doesn't give a shit about web standards and best practices."

C4D wood floor effect

Can any advise or point me in the right direction for achieving a decent wooden floor effect in Cinema 4D. Something similar to the floor in the image, with a bit of texture rather than completely flat.

I'm just starting to get my head around the basics so if anyone knows of any tutorials they would be a big help thanks.

laptop as a tax expense

I know I am a bit late filling this out...

I am trying to find info but can't - do you still need to claim 50% of a computer purchase on year and 50% the following? I can't find anything about it but had always been told this. HMRC site makes it look like you can claim it all as long as it doesn't add up to over 50K

Would the same be true for a chair used solely for work?

This is a UK tax question btw. Thanks.

Anyone listening to it on radio 5? Sounds like he is being interviewed by Noel Edmonds.

Van stock shots

OK very dull question, does anyone know of any sites with decent stock shots of vans? British style vans rather than American trucks. I can't find anything that's been shot well.
