SSD - Solid State Drives Nov 17, 08, 9:36 p.m.
Buy now or wait until they get faster?
And on the same subject,
anyone got a new macbook pro with a ssd drive,
working on 1gb+ files in photoshop,
and care to share the experience in term of speed?
Worth buying a SSD drive seperatly and installing it later?
Popular music - Being out of touch with Oct 9, 08, 11:54 p.m.
So I live in a place far away from televisions and radios.
That's wrong;
there's plenty of televisions and radioes here.
But none of them plays that much music from the "west" (let's say Yuerup and the Americas). Instead it's very much only local flavours mixed in with 1 song or 2 in the top 20 list that is in English.
Which is why I am very, very out of touch with what -you- hip kids listens too. These days, and let's say the last 5 years or so.
So,
any one care to drop some bandnames?
Very obvious ones are welcome.

Dad passed away yesterday Jun 20, 07, 6:52 p.m.
I don't usually do this.
Public posting of this sort, nor much praying.
But if you do occasionally pray,
please put in a good word for my old man tonight, that he'll have a great continuous journey.. His name was Izidor, and passed away far too soon.
And don't forget your own parents folks. They're the best.
B.B.Q. music suggestions May 23, 07, 3:16 a.m.
So,
I'm throwing a b.b.q. in Tokyo for a heap of my Japanese friends. 100+ burgers and trunk-load of beers.
The theme (yeah...I do that) is 'American'.
Suggest some music if you please. Music that's easy to swallow for my buddies and that goes well with a b.b.q.
Bonus points if the lyrics contain reference to America in any way. Think "Surfin' USA".

Ever into Lego? Feb 28, 05, 7:24 p.m.
Were you, just like me, ever into Lego as a child?
And do you, just like me, want to unwind at or after work sometimes?
Found an addictive online multiplayer Lego game, with just as much nostalgica as finding an old box of Lego in your basement.
You build freely, by yourself or with friends.
Setting up a server is easy, joining an existing one is even easier.

Some maps where you build have a few lego weapons like bows and spears, but you don't have to use them. The joy is in creating.
I should have posted this in the PBS, but I wanted to hear if any of you guys are playing. Would be nice to go create something with a few fellow NT'ers. So if you do join, put "NT_" before your name so we'll know where you're from.
For inspiration, check out some things people built here:

The only downside, escpecially for this forums members, is that it's only available for pc at this time. A mac port is due to be released later.

the guy before you Dec 23, 04, 11:19 p.m.
A pretty simple game, if you will.
Write something about the guy/gal who posted before you in this thread.
I can't write about anyone because I am the first to post.
But the next person writes something about me, and the person after that can write something about the one who wrote about me.
Does that make any sense?
For the dead designer Nov 9, 04, 12:20 a.m.
Fonus, a swedish burial/funeral related company, is selling designer coffins.
3 modells available. I like the "Forum" one, which represents each stage in life.
And for the love of everything holy, don't claim that this is a rip.

Invoice, please Jun 29, 04, 11:49 p.m.
Could someone please send me an invoice that you've used, working with design (or actually anything). Very simple.
I have to turn it in 55 minutes ago, so I'm in quite a thight spot now, also I'm not at my regular desk.
Your help is appreciated.

Converting images to text Dec 15, 03, 5:30 p.m.
I know there's got to be a lot of software out there that can read and scan images for text (output being actual text).
Does anyone know any software that could do this in Japanese?
