Even tho I don't really support the 2012 idea - I've been thinking of this lately,
Unless something completely random happens on D 2012 - earthquake, super volcano etc. we will have some idea of what is going to happen before December. Ie, comet, war, famine, plague, economic crisis... there will be some sort of Event Horizon, or Point of No Return , in which we will know what is going to happen or a possible set of outcomes.
Example , if its a comet; in Feb. 2012 - we see discover it coming into our solar system.
If its some sort of WW3 or combination of things... you get the point

Isn't that a more interesting date? Although we will never know when that EH day will be....what do you guys think; is an answer to the 2012 mystery possible b4 2012?

Canon 5d Question Jan 29, 10, 9:42 p.m.

About a year + .5 ago I was thinking of getting into photography. I thought of starting off with medium format, learn about developing film - work with slide film ...the whole nine yards

Soon after the canon 5d Mark 2 or whatever came out. I have yet to see anything look bad coming out of this thing (I reserve that this may be b/c only good photographers buy them, and get enough publicity that i see their pictures)

But at what point will this make creating good looking films / photography, simply the summation of :: an idea, a few lights, and a $5k camera? [Which along with piracy is at least part of the problem with the influx of web designers we see now...(low barriers to entry , easy access and tutorials to pro tools) ]

In general is it easy to just point shoot and be pro with the 5d - (which i may be oversimplifying) and what do you think that means for the photography videography industry?

I will be working with another larger firm to produce work for a fortune 40 company.

In the industry how are these usually worked out, ie agency has firm b actually produce the work.
I'm concerned my firm inst going to get a fair share of recognition - do i need to strongarm and ask to see corespondances with the client? or brand everything i give to the agency?

Neither one of our firms have done much of this before, they are well established with the client, but im coming on board to bring new offerings (web and application develpment)

I've got some very big opprotunities through a friend of mine and just need some advice on pricing. .

But in a nutshell I have been tasked with potentially creating a complete identity kit - down to custom envelopes and marketing packets - for a large firm trying to procure international business. Said kit will be seen by not just companies but governmental officials just to explain the scope.....How much would u charge and why is that justified?

Please, just let me know what u understand a firm in new York to charge, if you want to avoid personal info.

Ok, so i took this job that i should have just passed on. Good work but their not paying enough. Now they want me to fill out a w9 - the potential for my socialSec# to be misused is more a factor than the measly money ill make on this invoice.

any suggestions on how i can say i dont want to fill out a w9 w/o looking like im trying to dodge taxes, or have something else shady going on. - or am i just being paranoid
