Are there any resources out there for tips on how to set up custom templates in Word that don't look like complete shit?

I have a full system of templates to develop for a client (contracts, NDAs, etc) and they wish to have these all in Word format for easy filling out.

I have these looking great in InDesign, now comes the hard part of translating it to ghastly Word format while maintaining grids and overall cleanliness of design.

I've been emailed out of the blue a few times from different publishing companies in China that were requesting submissions of my work for some books that they plan on coming out with.

I'm not sure the legit-ness of this, a bit sketchy as one of the companies did not have a working website.

I see a lot of people having their work published in books that deal with logo and business card design like Los Logos and Best of Business Card Design etc.

Do people submit their work to the publishing companies or is this stuff typically sourced out?
