Is Lightbox JS still cool or what? Was it ever?

I've been assigned the rather tedious task of rebranding 30-50 product spec sheets.

Essentially, I've got to add a "patch" with the client's logo and contact info to the bottom of these PDF brochures. Thankfully, they're all the same size, but some of them are multipage documents.

Is there a way to do this without dying of boredom?

Let's say you create a vector illustration from a photo found on the web using AI Live Trace.

Is this image considered new art, or still the intellectual property of whoever shot the source photo?

Looking for a new laptop for my design work, but I'm super tight on cash (as usual). Should I go with the high-end Macbook or the low-end Macbook Pro?

The Pro version has a bigger screen and slightly more ram, but is it really worth the extra $400 or so?

PS I'm not running any heavy-duty stuff like video editing, but I do a lot of print work.

I'm having trouble getting hired and starting to get the feeling that if you do more than one thing you're blackballed as a "jack of all trades..."

Building a site for client right now, and he has requested that I put up some samples of his work from a DVD in Quicktime format.

I don't have a clue when it comes to video. Can anybody give me a step-by-step or point me to some freeware/tutorials?
