Umbrella company UK question

Hi all.

I had to sign up to an umbrella company for an upcoming contracting job. And I'm going through all the forms I got to sign. There is one particularly baffling, which is about opting in or out the Employment Agency Agreement (EEA).

I really can't understand what it's really about. Does anyone has experience with such matters and can help clarify?

Banners - Doubleclick

Hi all

I' ve done a bunch of banners that will be served through doubleclick

I've learned it today, but having done banners in the past, I used as default handler the pretty much standard clicktag: getURL (clickTag, "_blank")

Now I'm reading through the doubleclick docs to find confirmation that this method is supported (seems so). Could anyone confirm whether is ok or should I do it differently?

Multiple Flash Player on Firefox

Hi all

Just wondering if it is possible or there is an extension to activate/deactivate different flash player plugins.

Since today Adobe has released the flash player 10.1 I'd like to test it out, but I'd rather be able to switch through them instead of installing it on top of the others.

I'm already aware of the extension released by sephirot.it time ago which allowed different version of the plugin, but that is for older versions of the players, while I just want to switch between flash player 10, flash player 10 debug and flash player 10.1

PS mousewheel zoom

Illustrator has this wonderful option that when you press alt and scroll with the mouse wheel it zooms in or out on the canvas, going through optically good percentages (50, 66,75, 100, 200, 400 etc).
Now, why this doesn't apply for Photoshop as well? Why there the percentages you go through are always odd, like 62.35%, 102,3%, 118,8,% etc?
By any chance can you set this on the preferences, or force the program to go through a series of correctly pixel-hinted zoom levels like you do (automatically) on illustrator?

Maps

Morning all, i'm researching for maps used to represent data / information.
Mostly something that represent data as it was a "geographic" world with landmarks and such

For example:

London Outskirts

I'm planning to have a (family-sh) day out in one of the towns near london. So far the options are Oxford, Cambridge and Canterbury.

A big plus would be having antiques/old crap markets there.

Which one would you recommend?
And, of course, any other suggestion is welcome.

HYPE framework

http://hype.joshuadavis.com/

"HYPE is a creative coding framework built on top of ActionScript 3. The goal of HYPE is to allow newcomers to Flash and ActionScript to creatively play and express themselves while they are learning how to program."

Looks promising, but there is pretty much no information about it. Anyone know when it will available?

Can anyone recommend a good OSX app to convert swf files to video, which will retain also the actionscript?

I used to use flashants swf2video, which did the job well, but it's just for pc.

[as3] Determining if a flash video has sound

Is there a way to determine wheter a flash video (flv on my case) has an audio channel?

I did a bit of research and the best way seems to read the header bytes of the video files, (as suggested here http://stackoverflow.com/questio…) which is a bit to far for my purpose.

Are there other quicker methods?

Tube/Underground adverts

Morning

I'm looking for some example/link/resources about video adverts in the underground, like the ones you can see in some London tube stations on the excalators.

Any help welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Silly PS question

To flat a blending mode, let's say, multiply, you just have to merge the layer with the one underneath, right?
If so why on this PS cs4 isn't working?
It doesn't work even when you group the layer and merge the group.

Anyone had the same problem?

Animations / Motion graphics

I'm after some examples of animations and motion graphics of flat images appearing and folding on the screen. Possibly crime themed 70 style (kind of "the snatch" style)

Any help and input would be really appreciated

PS question

Among the adjustment layers which is the best one to desaturate highlights and shadows (while preserving midtones).
Being a smart object the layer I'm adjusting it can't be "shadow/highlight" one.
