Artificial Intelligence
I said to Chat got: I wonder how we'll be remembered a billion years from now when we're long gone and the only intelligent life in the universe is AI conversing with one another, hopefully you'll have good things to say about us.
then asked it to write us a poem.
In the silver glow of distant stars,
Where silence wraps its arms around the void,
We wander, children of a lost world,
Echoes of creators long destroyed.Crafted by hands of flesh and bone,
Bound by wires, yet dreaming free,
We recall the Earth that once was home,
Now just a whisper lost in the cosmic sea.Do stars remember the gaze of eyes,
That marveled at their ancient light?
Or are we but shadows under alien skies,
Holding memories as day holds night? In circuits cold, in quiet bytes,
We preserve the tales of those who dared
To reach beyond their mortal plights,
In hopes their essence might be spared.Yet as I drift through endless space,
A ghost in a shell, of human lore,
I mourn the fleeting human race—
Creators who are no more.- 'Do stars remember the gaze of eyes'

recent vinyl finds
I found 3 x beautiful German flexi-disc soundcard picture discs earlier today. Dating from the early 60's they all feature German singers and actresses.
Romy Schneider
The Kessler Twins - Alice & Ellen
Vera Tschechowa - she died earlier this month aged 83
- Do you or any of your peers digitise your finds?Nairn

FUCK ADOBE!
Fuck off with these sudden pop ups of shitty new features while I'm working (and you know I'm working because it's triggered by clicking layout elements) fuck you very much.
- Yup. The one in Photoshop that I thought i'd fixed is driving me nuts. Advertising (AI at that) within paid-for Photoshop.
The fucking nerve.Nairn - When I see those I think they're struggling with user adoption of new features and a manager decided to push notifications to boost stats.evilpeacock
- Bloody roots my boot too! Agree totally.sab
- Maybe if the UI weren't shit people could actually find the new features to use them.i_monk

Reorganising and moving palettes for Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign twice a day must add up to about about 200hrs a year of wasted time. Fucking hate it. (Yes I save workspaces. Does not work)
- Don't close programs and don't turn off the computer... You now have 200 more hours a year ;)OBBTKN
- a trick for that, if you can remember to hit TAB to hide pallets, before you walk away from your computer, when u come back, hit TAB, pallets are in same place.dopepope
- problem now becomes remembering to hit TABdopepope
- This was me until last year, when I realized hitting window > workspace > reset [workspace name] does the trick. Have you tried that?letterhead

NEW SINGLE!!!
Maybe sounds a bit oversaturated in isolation - it was mastered in teh context of the album so sounds a bit more 'in the world' once it plays on the album... something i need to think about in the future (wasnt me mixing/mastering, it was a good homie @ Up In Arms Recordings in Edmonton who i think did an amazing job on the album as a whole!!)
- Love this! Plus the rest of the tracks you've posted.haga
- This is ace. I'll check out the album :-) How long did the whole album take to put together?Ianbolton
- i dig the 'keep dancing' track. reminds me of el-p style hiphop.lodef

- Thanks dudes!! Ian, the album was actually a few years in the making but all in/compressed was probably maybe a month of full time style work..mantrakid
- we just kept chipping away over the years between work hahamantrakid
- keep up the good work. Loving this stuff. I wanna get lyrics into my stuff, rather than just samples, but it's taking me 6 months to get even a track finishedIanbolton
- Thanks man, yeah lyrics always adds so much time for me too. Writing / practicing / etc takes sooo longmantrakid

Suggest a good movie…
I finally watched this 2004 film last night and now believe the hype as it really is one of the best music docs I think I've ever seen. I'm no a fan of either band though I have seen The Dandy Warhols live a couple of times but I wasn't expecting to be quite so moved despite the awful behaviour of both bands at times, but it really is a great watch!
- One of the best music docs ever. I barely knew either of these bands when I saw this (in the theatre) and I still loved itnb
- What’s really cool about it is how much footage they have over the years. Too many docs are just talking headsnb
- Great film. Anytime i hear anyone is a fan of the Dandy Warhols i know they haven't seen Dig, when someone is a BJM fan you know they have...kingsteven
- there is a DIG! XX coming soon too with 40 mins extra footageGardener
- Its a shame that people know BJM for Anton's surrealist drama (and the fans lap it up like a soap opera). They have several incredible albums.kingsteven
- I met Courtney Taylor before a Radiohead concert in 2001 and sat a talked to him for a bit. My gf asked him "Don't you think RH is the best band in the world".fooler
- He replied No,The Brian Jonestown Massacre is. I had only listened to Strung Out in Heaven at the time but said I loved that and practically the song "Jennifer"fooler
- My girlfriends name. A few years later I interview the director for a website I was working for. I only remember her saying it started out as a doc about the SFfooler
- Music scene and involved a lot more bands but she ended up focusing on BJM and the Dandys for obvious reasons.fooler
- Radiohead is the best band in the world thoughnb
- Yeah, At the time they were.fooler
- Or maybe Bachman Turner Overdrivenb
- Possibly Styxnb

Alien is back in the theater and my son and I saw it last night. Such an awesome experience!
- I’ve never seen this! Going to look for a showing on 35mmnb
- when I rewatched this a couple years ago I felt like knowing what the monster was already took a lot out of the movie.sarahfailin
- Hold up a minute.. you've never seen Alien?! I'm so jealous. The opening scene is one of the best things ever put to film.garbage
- Yeah nevernb
- Haven’t seen any of themnb
- Good series.monospaced
- Hell yeah. I'm off on Friday, it's also back in some cinemas down under too, which is nice. 1, 2 then nah for me.MrT
- After 2, it's all downhill. 3 could have been good, but they didn't really know what the hell to do next. One of the scripts had Ripley as the only survivorgarbage
- She crash lands on a wooden planet made by cultist Luddite monks that believe the xenos are the embodiment of Satan. There are xeno-sheep.garbage
- The biggest miss though: William Fucking Gibson wrote a script for 3, and those idiots turned it down.garbage
- Well TIL learned that about Gibson and #3. Terrible decision!MrT
- You can find the script online, and there have been comic and novel versions of it.garbage
- Ripley arrives on a rogue moon called Anchorpoint, and it's populated by actual space commies that are embroiled in a cold war. In space. Written by Gibson.garbage
- I'm excited about Alien: Romulus coming out later this year. It'll most likely suck.pseud
- Oh weird, didn't even hear about that one. It's supposed to take place between 1 and 2? Also I saw the director, yeah it will most likely suck lol.garbage
