Anyone here know how to add a scratch disk to Photoshop? Everything I read says File > Preferences > Scratch Disks... and then add it, but there's no "add" button and no other drives are visible.

To my knowledge, the drives should just show up if they're available vs adding them. Could be a formatting issue? A quick look at Adobes support site lists the following supported formats:
macOS: macOS extended
Windows: NTFS, exFAT, FAT32- I'm not clever but why would a drive be OK as an AE cache but not as a PS scratch? I have two SSDs for AE but they're not showing as PS options...MrT
- It shouldn't matter. I have one dedicated SSD scratch drive with PS, AE, AI, Premiere, Camera RAW, C4D, etc. all using it.evilpeacock

might be you need to give ps access permissions. in sys prefs security privacy

^ That did it. Photoshop had everything but Removable Volumes checked in the settings for Files and Folders. Illustrator let me add the drive natively and then prompted the security change itself. So frustrating that these products handle the same things so differently.
QBN to the rescue!
- They really should spend more resources on harmonizing those kind of thingsGnash
- Nice. Agreed apple and Adobe should make this a non issue.monospaced
