Yeah a real shame. He made some beautiful films and under some very difficult circumstances.

I had worked on an exhibition with him in Toronto for a series of photos he did about old doors. And my experience in working with a 'living artist' often become difficult situations and driven by ego versus creativity. And before he came to visit us to have some working sessions, we had assumed the same would happen. But this man was not only the opposite of that, he was a profoundly decent human being.
I never worked with anybody like this. He was humble, curious, creative, genuine, and respectful of people and their crafts.
He has had a great impact on me and was saddened by the news.
