Looked online with not much info. I would like to digitally film with the ratio of the black box area. widescreen like this without much distortion. Is it a camera lens combo to get this width in one shot? What is recommended for equipment that is good without breaking the bank.

NAB 2015 theres a few cheaper anamorphics coming out running around $5k. or you can just go the more popular route of just renting them or going to ebay and buy an anamorphic adapter.
what I did in the past is just slap on some rubberbands as guides onto my LCD for my framing, shoot in 1920x1080 and output in 1280xWhatever giving you more framing control in post.
This one of the reasons im getting into 4k so I could output in 1080 if I ever do that shit again because those lenses are just too damn much.

For 20 bux you can buy the anamorphic shooters guide but its been leaked all over the internet ands its easy to find.

Cool thanks. I found this setup. it seems the issue with improv would be the clarity of the image?
if done right clarity should be ok i guess.
