Hi yo all!! Happy New Year and may all of your wishes come true in 2003.
I'm almost finished building the main UI for one of my clients and I need your help. I need to see if you people have slowdowns or any major bugs when loading the interface as well as streaming the music.
Please tell me what browser and platform you are using. Thanks a bunch.

IE5 Mac os10.2
The rollovers on the nav seems a bit slow to react and the music doesn't stream well at all, but then I am on a 56k, seems a little sluggish in general but I guess your aiming at broadband?

Wasup Boz. Damn you working hard man!
Yeah the site is a cpu hog. The processing for the site hover around 95% fulltime. A little too much for this 866mhz comp. Everything seems founctional to me. The jukebox is pretty cool, altho I hope you made sure that there is no copyright violations with the music. Better be safe.
Good job as always Boz and drop by once in a while @Methodic man. It's slowly taking form. Take care.
ps. (Xp IE 6)

nice! it does run very sluggish though.
one thing about the jukebox; it took me a second to realize that after selecting a new song that you have to hit play to play it. i was expecting it to start playing the new track when i clicked it...

Actually here are some more observations.
-the email (subscribe) section doesnt show the 'your email here' message until I click on the textbox.
-Once I click on the textbox, The 'your email here' message doesnt dissapear but I have to manually select and delete that text before being able to insert my email. A little annoying.
-I am getting a lot of pixel shifts on the jukebox image as well as on the burger image.
-It would be nice to randomize the songs each time I enter.
-When a song finishes it should play the next song instead of stopping completly.
-The stars patters doesnt continue smoothly.
Everything else is A+

Montreal,
check the site again please...
I've upgraded the jukebox and the fading thingy on the subscribe section...tell me if it works fine on your comp.
Also please tell me if it's still sluggish...I think I solved some major slowdowns now...
Thanks...All the best

Wow, BOZ, what a great sote dude, love how you integrated the star bars both as an image and in flash. Also love the little music player to the left. You know where I can get that .fla or where I can learn that, probably a tutorial in MX right? Also live the use of the Western style fonts. Works perfectly! ;) Reminds me a bit of Gabe's site.

PS, you must be using dummy content for the center area of the site that either is calling on a movie or an external .swf. It seems that the preloader remains when it should go away, but I am sure you know this.

JasonX,
you might have stumbled upon a version that I was debugging live on my server...you can check the site now...
Btw..tell me, what kind of connection you use? 56k, Cable, DSL?
I had a lot of trouble getting the site to operate correctly on 56k...it should be working now though..

Nice work, slick and original. A memorable site for sure.
On a negative note, I think you're looking for trouble using all those songs. I realize it's labeled a "jukebox", but you’re still going to need approval to use those songs to promote the restaurant.

Nosaj,
point well taken...But I'm looking into legal stuff...If they already bought licenses to air those songs in the bar...there shouldn't be a problem playing them online as well...just as long we don't allow distribution.
But I agree it's still unlikely that they will allow that....in that case we'll use some other songs, royalty free :)...
Thanks for the responses...although I need some solid comments, like if there are slowdowns, are 56k users viewing the site normally?
Montreal's comments were on the nose..
Many thanks to everyone.

JasonX,
The jukebox on the left was done from the scratch. Song list is imported from the external file and the mp3s are streaming.
To tell you the truth I made the whole jukebox myself because I didn't like some of the examples out there.
Btw. Can anyone tell me about how this site works on 56k?
Cheers.

nice work, Boz.
you have Everything but a Girl in the song title place, and Missing as the artist name.
should be
Artist: Everything but THE Girl
Song: Missingtop 3 buttons aren't working (Corportate Info, Media Gallery, Location/Directions), but i'm sure you know that.
i'm on broadband, IE 6 XP, 1.7 MHz so no slow down for me. very nice.
