Hi people.
I'm looking for a new hosting solution for a new site and I would like to know what do you think that is a good monthly bandwith value. Is it 2Gb enough?

Surely that depends on a combination of the size of the files on the site and the number of expected users. Haven't got a clue what is a good amount but you'd need to consider those variables to start to get an idea of what you need.

It will be a personal site. Looking for my actual one where I have minimum 10 and maximum 350 visits/day, I think that it will have only a few because it will be a portuguese language only, mostly text and some photos... I saw a good space/price offer with 2gb. Dont know yet.

if you have about 20mb of files stored on your server, and if you have 50 hits by day- every day of the month (example), you'll have a total of 1050 visits a month (31 days) X 20mb
this will give you a total of 21 Gigs of data transfer per month.
wich i consider not enough to have only a limit of 2 gigs...

That would rely on everyone who visits the site looking at every page and downloading every file that's on it, pretty unlikely. Can't you get figures from your current host to give you a better idea of what you need?

kodap: It seems very easy to get those results...
My actual site has a 20GB/m limit and I've never been overcharged so I think I've never passed that limit. And I have a lot of heavy (3,4 mb) files on Browserd.
That said, anyone with a good and cheap host solution with a higher bandwith limit?

dstlb: My current host is a litle bit expensive and I'll keep with him because he never failled me (Yahoo Servers). But would became to expensive to have 2 sites hosted there...
