Hi there people.
I've got an old Matrox g400 with 16Mb and now that I bought my new monitor I was thinkig in a new video card. Always used Matrox but when I look at the prices (for the g550 w/32Mb the same that any other brand with 64 or 128) I think if should I keep with them. I dont do games. Any advice?

Works like a charm..

I was thinking in that one also... I've never had any problems with Matrox (very good driver support even in my other system -OS/2) but it is hard to find them here in Portugal. Anymore opinions?

I had a matrox... g550, it was awsome, then I got a geforce so I could play more recent games..
the g550 is about as good as a geforce2 mx400 for 3d..
matrox dual screen support also kills it..
thier driver support just keeps getting better and better, everything was stable (unlike nvidia - when will they make decent ones that are stable!?)if the price is right, go get it.

If you dont play ant games go with matrox, but if you play games sometimes...

The last game I've played was "Under a Killing Moon" (7 cd's) back on 1995... I've got the new Warcraft III but it is on the plastic yet... No time for it.

Why are people still buying Matrox? The company is in risk of collapsing right now. All the important engineers have left. ATI and Nvidia offer better solutions.
