Is there a trick or exact kerning number used to space characters in photoshop to fake html for verdana 9/10 pt?

i know what you mean, there are some serious kerning issues with verdana, and no i havent found an easy solution yet
eric - look at my hombase layout proposal, check out the "news" headline in particular, the ws combination is killer.

textarea, sorry man. i have no good answers for you on the kerning tracking issue. play with it... thats about as good a shitty answer as i can give ya. =)
