only mild improvment in the southeast US.
things arent really that bad right now though. just got a job offer from a place i applied to 8 months ago.
they jerked me around bad back then so i told em to go fuck themselves. (in a very nice and professional way though)

Dependent on what you do, there is work. It's simply a matter of if you can sell and how good your contacts are. It's not going to be a dot com situation, but there is light at the end of this tunnel

some of the marketing people i've talked to have said that clients are planning to put money back into advertising in 2003 which is definitely good news for designers.
the explanation sounded good to me...
when the US economic bubble busted products were still selling quite well... no need to advertise if the products are moving, therefore those budgets were cut. now that sells are down corporations are looking to reach the consumer again via advertising.

wow, serious bump; I don't recall 2002 and being this shitty. Oh wait, I was working at nightclubs, slanging drinks, hanging out with hot service industry chicks and making good money... now, I'm a designer.
2002, it was a great yearâ„¢

this is quite funny. 2003 was the year that work was pretty thin on the ground in the states. that plus the first bush administration is the reason i came to london in the first place... ah, memories...
