If I want to hire a typographer to create a typeface based on my inspiration, how much would it cost???
and does anyone know any good typographers out there that's willing to generate typeface apon request??

Just typed out an essay and I hit refresh by accident......
anyway my point is that I have other projects in hand and most of the time we need to get shit done with in 2 weeks.
I ran to a situation about a month ago when I have to design a set of "Biker Tatoo" style typeface but I didn't have time so my supervisor pay a tatoo artist $150 for a sketch!
and I endedup working crazy overtime tracing over it in illustrator and slap it in fontographer afterwards and still past the due date...
I'm sure for about $200 I could have asked a real deal typographer to take care of it right?

Maybe per letter. Seriously,there's some type out there that took years to complete. 200$ ? laughable.

Don't mean to be a buzz kill dude -
But $200 will not get you a "real deal" typographer.
Do you know how many hours of work goes into a full typeface? Even if you only need a 26 letter display face - that's a little too cheap.
Check out the Graphic Artists' Guild pricing book. It gives a good example in there. Don't know the figures off hand though.
