Helvetica makes me laugh

I find it so funny that the Helvetica font is so treasured yet at same time there are MAJOR software applications that can be easily cracked from a plethera of known crack sites. It's like I laugh at the suckers that try and get it and the guys that give them shit for asking. Man so funny, hee, hee ;)

see even that makes me laugh so hard, literally as it is a FONT. You are not stealing software!!! HA HA!! ;) I mean I am all for licensing as I do music loops for sale, but shit I just find it soooooooo odd!!

i'm not sure i get the point here... so its not actually the font itself that makes you laugh, just the high esteem it holds amongst some members of the design community?

no font, in and of itself, has ever really made me laugh. maybe a slight smirk, or a grin, but never a full out laugh.

if i get the meaning of the first post right, my guess is that designers can relate more to fonts getting stolen, than say software or music. more designers create their own fonts than, say, a full software package.
For the most part i dont think about it, although, it does slightly annoy me when someone buys five design posters and a couple overpriced t-shirts then bitches about not being able to afford a font.

what I meant was that Helvetica itself is this font that is put on this pedistal because it was made or bought out by Adobe, at some point, and if you compare it's usefulness and overall value as compared to other tools, it seems odd that people do that. Sorry run on sentence.... too late...!

Helvetica has never made me laugh, nor has groupsex, it's kind of lame. I do wish to take this moment however to laugh at the fact somone has been unable to acquire a copy of Helvetica.

actually I have it, and don't use it and I like pixel stuff more like you. Plus, I never posted this to act like I am jealous whatsoever, just to see people's opinions on why Helvetica is so treasured. For instance let me bring up some others.

no, its an automated thing i add the font file it zips it up for user to download. more of a storage bin than an interactive site.
