if you havent seen the movie.
    dont scroll down.

    --------------------------------
    so heres my question,

if the "entity" didnt want richard gere to die, then why did he bring him to the town in the first place?

my comment about the "entity" not wanting him to die is based on the fact that It told him to go to georgetown on the day of the accident.
if richard gere had actually answered the phone like he was supposed to, he would have never made it back to Pleasent in time for the bridge collapse.

    so whats the deal?

whats the freakin point of his being there?

the only thing i can come up with is that the entity and the late-wife are separate.
so the dead wife sent the message telling him to go to georgetown, not the Mothman.

but that doesnt really hold up with the rest of the movie.

    anybody got any theories?

    id love to hear em.

Ok, this thread is reeeally old but -
now I've seen the movie too. I think it's good, kinda intense. There isn't a single scene that isn't a little bit spooky. I watched it with my girlfriend and my sister, so you can imagine there was a lot of screaming... <:0

If you havn't seen it but want to, don't read any further.

I also think it was the wife that sent him the message to go home. The letter was given to him by a lady who didn't show her eyes, they were just outside the frame. I remember reacting to that. But I thought the author, Keel, was mr Leek in the movie, not Klein...

    Anyway, spooky movie.
