Hey crew -
Wondering if you can post some interesting “SHORT-FILM” promotional sites that you may have come across or have done yourselves. Not sure if there’s a thread for it already?
I may be directing something sci-fi related in late November/December.
I won’t have a trailer for some time unfortunately, but I’ve seen sites that show storyboards or upload part of the script, cast pics, etc. Pretty standard assets, so looking for more compelling presentation style...
Here’s a few I gleaned so far:
http://www.thelandingfilm.com/in…
https://www.watchdust.com/ (More of a collection of shorts)
Thanks as always!

Use your imagination and add the content you want to add.
Sky's the limit.

Also ask yourself, do you want a website that adds to the film experience or one that is more informational for investors to learn about and keep up with the production?

Finally, don't expect to gain more audience with the website alone.
- Hey D - yes, there will be a social campaign, but I'd like a nice base to send folks to.antimotion
- If you happen to see any cool sites, please post - thanks for the info thus far - duly noted for sure!antimotion

no idea bout your question but do yourself a favour never shoot with a red.
- Love some suggestions on that as well if you have experience. This will be a short 10-15 mins. Black/white final.antimotion
- You had a bad experience with that cam? Or just prefer other... ? Thanks man!antimotion

Mugwart - here's the cams I believe I'll have access to:
Canon 5D Mark II
Sony a7s ii
RED One MX w/(2) 128GB SSD
RED Scarlet-W (without I/O expander) includes (1) 120GB Mini-Mag

Shot colour even if going black and white - will help out the DI/grading process at the end.
If that's your list then shoot RED. The other chromas are not 4:4:4. Which makes everything look better but a just if your going to do any grading/green screen or just want this to look good.
That said this will slow your production down somewhat, so bar in mind the shots. It will be hard to cut together between cameras BUT shot what you can with what you can and that is a good list to have access too!
I only say no red as their colour pipeline and pipeline as a whole sucks balls (IMAO)!
Let me know if you need anything else.
- if you have a choice and budget - go Arri Alexamugwart
- as my experience ... I best not say as I work in film VFX and don't want to get into too much trouble again this week ;-)mugwart
- Awesome man - thanks for the tips! - This will be my first filmed short with a crew - usually do animated type stuff or just creative direction...antimotion
- Definitely no to low budget, but I believe in the script and way we'll shoot will make up for that - big believer in use what you have to the fullest for sure.antimotion
- will you be keying?mugwart
- if you have the time shot red.
if your budget/time is limited and you have more rigs equipment (jibs/dollyetc) go small cameras. Reds are fucking heavymugwart - good luck - let me know if you need a hand with anything.mugwart
- There may be a couple shots for keying... I was hoping to do everything in cam, but we'll see... Love to stay connected - any way to stay in touch?antimotion
- summon[at]matleach.c...
Do try to shot all in cam. Even if it adds in a few days on the shoot. Post is hell!mugwart - Thanks again man - I'll pop over a note...antimotion
