I am completely baffled by an issue I'm seeing with IE and using google's EB Garamond font.
So I of course turn to the limitless knowledge of the QBN users to help me out.

This looks correct on all browsers other than IE 11. But when you look at it in IE 11 - bizarrely all of the 'u' charatcers become 'v' characters.
seriously. only on IE 11 though.

Any ideas on what's going on here?

From google fonts: "Note: For best display in IE, make the stylesheet tag the first element in the HTML section. In IE, if the link is placed after tags, the entire page will block and not display anything until the font is loaded."
- maybe this...
I would check google manuals to find a solution.uan

Probably something to do with historical letterforms with using U and V. Look into 'font variant' on MDN, and possibly even 'font variant ligatures' (even though it's not a ligature), or 'contextual form alternates' on the goog.

Clever Google, allowing IE to do its job properly, but making it look like it's fucking up instead.
- very clever. Although I have no idea why the devs on our side would have enabled that anyway.flashbender
