It's funny people have to buy those monstrosities to adapt their computer to their workflows

- 300 hundred bucks o_Oernexbcn
- ^ ya, but you can attached up to $30K worth of gear! a bargainGnash
- I own one of these. It's great but not something I'd consider to be portable.chow
- I hooked up a coworker with a TB2 version of this at their desk. Works fine for that sort of application — watch for periodic firmware updates.evilpeacock

- I got nothing...
it's ridiculousMiguex - the new MacBooks have a headphone jack...Gnash
- Gnash!
Damn, I thought they killed it. That's awesome!
ThanksMiguex - apparently they're returned it for the "pro" machines...Gnash
- "... many users have set-ups with studio monitors, amps and other pro audio gear that do not have wireless solutions and need the 3.5mm jack."Gnash
- ^ apples' reasoning for reintroducing itGnash
- I think they removed the SD slot in it's steadGnash
- studio monitors would rarely ever run straight out of a mac. just saying.fadein11
- audio out would come from an external soundcard. headphones yes, monitors no. weird thing for them to say.fadein11
- They never removed it from the pros right? Just the MacBooks? Ugh.monospaced

What about scsi?

its strange.. at first I was super annoyed I had to get adaptors.. but then in reality, when I'm not in the studio I just plug into my Thunderbolt Display so it acts as a hub (one adaptor to go from USB C to Thunderbolt)
and when I'm not, to be honest I barely need it.. maybe 3 times in the last 4 months..
- how do you like it so far?
is it considerably faster?
I feel like this will be my last mac ever. They are so behind PCs now it's REDONKSMiguex - hard to say.. definitely feels way more responsive than my last one, but that was a 2011 i7 .. so .. obviously it would.. don't have any complaints so far butautoflavour
- to be honest I haven't really thrown anything at it yet which really required anything power.. Ableton has been its heaviest thing and even that was low-key..autoflavour
- keen to throw some 4k editing at it over the break, but yep, it was an upgrade due to old laptop failing, less a desire to buy a new oneautoflavour
