My first pro board was a VISION GATOR
I'm thinking about buying one of the re-issue ones to pair with a Mellow Drive that I really really want!
To help me choose a reissue old school deck I put together a scaled photoshop file to help me see how the Mellow Drive would sit on the deck and to see how far the wheels would stick out as wheel-edge to wheel-edge is 11 inches.
What do you think?
- Gator wa my first pro deck too :)emphor

Basically anything Powell Peralta from the original Rat Bones crew.
- The wood on the Powell decks would chip faster than with the other brands. But they looked greatCalderone2000

My FIRST board was a 'budget board' from What Everyone Wants
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wh…)Soon after getting that I got a set of Kryptonic Slammers
to replace the hard plastic wheels. After that me and my friends used woodwork planes to carve and sand out decks to give the impression of a concave like a pro deck.
I can remember the excitement of going through to Quarterback Sports in Glasgow to get my first pro board the Vision Gator. I had Ugly Stix pink rails on it, venture trucks and Powell Mini Rat wheels ( i still have the wheels).
Going back to my parents place in a few weeks to turn the place upside down looking for my old Gator. Pretty sure they would never have thrown it out and it will be somewhere! even though when I've (quickly) looked a few times before it's not uncovered anything.

I've become fascinated by these old shapes and boards.
There's a part of me that wants to collect them and hang them on the walls of my office.
But then there's another part of me saying it's ridiculous to spend money on these "museum pieces" because they're meant to be shredded in the wild.
I can't decide.
