Where can I go to find a dependable email that is not Google?
Anyone?

I think Gmail is the best FREE one. If you are willing to pay a monthly/yearly fee there might be better options out there.

Altaba?

"If you're not paying, you're the product", etc.
The 'best' thing, if you're a business, is to roll your own and have IMAP/POP functionality on a box you pay for somewhere.
Ideally you'd pay extra for your own IP address too, just in case some cunt on your 'shared server' service is spamming and your mail gets caught up in it and the likes of Gmail or Outlook quietly fail your emails, fucking up your business (as happened to me a couple of years ago - not a lot of fun realising after a few days that all your gmail-using clients aren't hearing from you...)

- Yeah, it sucks when someone does this. There are better ways to spam people :-).formed
- Thankfully, I know no gmail clients (maybe that's changing?), but it does suck. McCaffey black listed mine and it was blocked on every corporation runningformed
- their crap. Thankfully they fixed it in a few days, but that's a lot of lost productivity. Emails TO me were also blocked on their end.formed
- overall MT has been good, good support, I might move to Microsoft, but scared their support will suckformed

Roll your own? It's not that hard. Why not Google though?

Rolling your own is not a good idea.
Yes, you can buy hosting, a dedicated IP, a domain, and hope for the best.
But there are still chances you can end up on a spam blacklist. If you send out in bulk, if you send out something that gets flagged as spam, if you have an insecure install of WordPress that gets hacked and starts sending out mass amounts of mail. You're screwed.
Hell, I've even purchased dedicated IP's before that were ALREADY blacklisted, and I had to request a new one.
Done it for many years. It's just not worth the hassle.

The paid version of Outlook.com is supposed to be pretty good.
- I was planning on that as I am paying for Office365, but I worry MS's support will be utter shit (it sure is for Outlook, can't use 2016, had to go back to 2013formed

I like separating email from hosting so that you're not stuck with a webhost that goes to shit (like MT). Ever tried migrating email? It's a huge pain in the ass.
