i dunno, 40 years doesn' seem long enough for EVERYONE to forget what arnold looked like. surely someone would point out that bernard is the spitting image of our glorious founder?
- And we saw a picture of young Ford and Arnold. Arnold wasn't black anyway.

- Will have to go back and watch - who was looking at that photo in that shot? Was it Bernard? That might explain why the 3rd person "wasn't there".bulletfactory
- ^ It was Bernard.Ramanisky2
- Jackass' lawyers couldn't find anything about him, and it looks like Dolores (and Yul Brynner?) may have massacred the original staff in the past.i_monk

$40K a day .... damn!!
start saving now boys & girls.- Seems like it would be easy to cause over 40k in damage at that place.BK
- Balanced out by the boring family vacations we don't see.ETM
- Fixing a robot that got it's head smashed in has got to be at least $40k. I question Westworld's pricing model.BK
- I was thinking that when the one guy kills everyone in the bar, just for the hell of it. Lots of host repairs to bill out.BH26
- ^ everyone is on salary. no billing.freedom
- Aside from the fembots, I don't know if I would pay more than $40 let alone $40k per day for this wild west theme park adventure.CyBrainX

Michael Crichton (1942 - 2008)ETM - And considering it was only a script, never a book, written (and directed) by Crichton, you make no sense, mono.ETM

- Yes, they did extend that courtesy as it's his creation. I'm sure his name association doesn't exactly hurt, either.ETM

GOOD. Liked it. Hopkins and Harris on Fleek. Thier styling / wardrobe is awesome.
I really think the sex tourism element is what makes this interesting, current etc. It makes it darker and really truthful to the human experience – like people would TOTALLY go in there to just bang a load of birds.
So is it like a scenario that repeats itself each day and then new guests come in and have other experiences? So the robots react to the new people coming in? The used robot dungeon is well cool, reminds me of an AI type movie
- I think ideally 'scenarios' last for a week or so for the duration of a guests stay. But I suppose if a guest wanted to just go round killing random people theHAYZ1LLLA

"McPoyle" might be a different timeline altogether. Theory he may be the man black seems a stretch, but you have to admit, there is enough here to suggest this happened in the past.

Last night, the episode was completely WILD! Between that drug trip and the altered reality scenes I couldn't tell if someone had slipped me something in my drink! While it looked to be directed and produced by completely different people than the normal show, i was pleasantly surprised. Almost had the same feel as the show Euphoria in the visuals.
- I’d like to get a small taste of ‘the Genre’
Would make for a fun night.Ramanisky2 - I had hard time to understand first what is going on with that overdone b-class car chase, then then it occurred to me that he is tripping and i'm not :)sted

Watched episode 4 last night and it's shit's getting proper mental already. Deloris is next level bad ass. This series seems so much more cohesive with a seriously interesting premise.
- I feel the complete opposite. Show is going to shit as far as story goes. Way too many directions and all over the place.fyoucher1
- There's WAY too much Delores. They're trying to replace Anthony Hopkins with far inferior actors, not mention much inferior writing this seasonMondoMorphic

This entire series would have been better as a movie. I can't stop comparing it to Ex Machina.
- i dunno, i keep comparing it to the way a story unfolds in a really good video game. Long story arc with a bunch of smaller stories added in.OP31
- yeah the order of events would have to be totally different in a movie. the disjointed confusion of multiple timelines just wouldn't work the samesarahfailin

Ok so here's a question. How coincidental that Dolores and MIB find their way to the center of the maze just before the big unveiling and the robot insurrection. His last little pep talk to her got her to do seemingly just what he wanted. Meanwhile, Maeve etc are "freely" choosing to leave. It would seem that Ford is doing just what he intended and smashing up his toys before he goes home.
So he most likely is still controlling the events, leading Dolores and MIB right along, even though MIB is a human and therefore truly 'free.' Ironic that the symbolic action of finding her consciousness was also manipulated by her puppet master.
Does that mean she's not really free? I wouldn't necessarily say so. Humans too are susceptible to control, as MIB must be to have arrived right on time at the maze with Dolores. Ford wrote him right into the story.
- Ford is God |v|teh
- Dolores was being controlled to the end that she would find herself and make a truly free choice.BabySnakes
- I think Ford's plan was to set up the hosts to have a choice in this new narative.BabySnakes
- meave isn't in control? she's in the story "escape"cruddlebub
- maeve's storyline was to free up cold storage droidsbrandelec
